How long does it take for HRT to work?

Different symptoms respond on different timelines. Hot flashes and night sweats are usually 50%+ improved within 2–4 weeks of starting an effective estradiol dose. Sleep, mood, and joint pain typically settle by 4–8 weeks. Vaginal dryness, urinary symptoms, and skin/hair changes take 8–12 weeks to fully respond — local vaginal estrogen accelerates the genital piece. If symptoms have not meaningfully improved by week 8, your dose, route, or formulation likely needs adjustment, which is a normal part of titration with your kindr provider.
